Reading Reflection (9-26)
The Ethics reading covered different schools of thought concerning ethics.
First, was Aristotole's point of view. Basically, ethics are based on reason, and the right decision should always be chosen. Kant's version is similar, but it is based on a "duty" each person has to perform. Utilitarinism deals with what would benefit the most people for the "greater good". Then there is feminist and care perspectives. Feminist perspectives are based on "female" aspects such as dealing with each case on a personal and case-by-case manner, rather than the "impersonal male" method. The Caring perspective leans towards emotions.
Each of these ethical "theories" are in themselves case-by-case situations. For example, to decide if stealing is moral, you wouldn't think "how will this benefit the most people?".

Very interesting analysis. I like it, especially because you have done a good job of restating the points the author is trying to make without having to go into great depth. I also think you have captured the ideas that were important. Plus, I like your little case-by-case situation example. That is very true. Good job!
I don't know, I think sometimes people do use the Utilitarinism theory of ethics when stealing. For example someone poor might steal food for his family using the argument that it would benefit more people if he did steal the food because it would mean his family not starving versus the already well off buisness owners losing the value of the food he stole.
I disagree with your example on stealing. If you decide that stealing is moral may that is stealing is moral because if you don’t steal your kids will not eat tonight. If that is the case then the would consider how would this benefit.
