My Responces for Ethics Question #3 (9/19

I got two comments, one from Wendy, and the other from Josh. So I decided to comment them back with my own responces for the web sites they chose to analyze.

Wendy chose the Humane Society's US web page, and it definely used pathos with using pictures of animals, either looking cute and fuzzy, or appealing to your sympathetic side by posting pictures of cases of animal cruelty.

Josh used CNN and IMDB's websites as his examples. They were both simple and streamlined, but their ethos and pathos varied. CNN was stark and almost technical. It was to-the-point and gave a feeling of formality and professionalism. IMDB is a movie database that allows the public to post reviews and comment on movies. The tone is slightly more relaxed, allowing more images and color to its layout.

From looking at these websites, I noticed how the ethics of using emotions and authority can vary to communicate a certain message to the viewer. They can play on our heartstrings, or hit us with cold hard facts.

Hi, Monica! Could you put the "Deadline dates" in the home-work titles--I got confused, actually my usual state of affairs!
